As a volunteer fire company, we rely on the dedication and commitment of our members to provide essential fire and emergency services to our community. We are always looking for new members to join our team and help us continue to serve our neighbors.
The North Stelton Volunteer Fire Company is a longstanding institution in the Piscataway community with a rich history that dates back to the mid-20th century. Established in 1934, the company consisted of a small group of volunteers who worked tirelessly to provide fire suppression services to the community in response to the growing need for fire protection services in the area.
Over the years, the North Stelton Volunteer Fire Company has become one of the town’s most diverse and respected fire companies, with a team of dedicated volunteers committed to protecting the lives and property of the residents of Piscataway. The company operates out of a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest firefighting equipment and technology.

All members must meet the following qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Pass a criminal background check
- Pass a medical examination
Those seeking to become firefighters will attend FREE training and certification courses through the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety.
- Firefighter 1 & 2 Certification
- Motor Vehicle Extrication
- Shiftwater
- CPR
You will also receive additional training on using specialized equipment or tactics for responding to particular types of fires or emergencies.
